Our Story
In 2009, several people I loved passed away including my father. Now I felt my mortality and started questioning my life’s purpose. While my current job utilized many of my skills, something was missing – creativity.
“What do you really want to do?” Lynne Hamilton, my roommate, asked one day.
I’d love to start a business or become a writer,” I responded. So Lynne and I began talking about a business we could do together that utilizes our skills and passion to help others.
This started the idea to open a retail store focused on products to help improve people’s well-being. I also knew people who could bring their products and services into the store like Sacred Path Candles and psychic/medium Rev. Pat Beers.
After researching, looking for locations, and purchasing displays, we opened Seeds of Wellness to customers on October 10, 2010, in Avon Lake, Ohio. We’re located among the stores near the Avon Lake post office in the plaza at 33501 Lake Rd.
From the moment you open the door, your senses fill with wonderful smells of the hand-poured aromatherapy candles and incense. Calm music samples play in the background. You explore the many handmade products as well as crystals, metaphysical items, CBD products, essential oils, and so much more.

Meet Our Team
Lynne Hamilton, LPN
Lynne has been a nurse for over 30 years in Ohio. She understands the needs for alternative products to help give up smoking, relief stress, increase relaxation, and to improve the health and well-being of others.
After Seeds of Wellness opened, Lynne learned about Reiki and felt its ability to bring pain relief to her. She decided to become a Reiki Master after that experience. In 2019, she became a certified Reiki teacher.
Lynne uses her knowledge and experience to help promote and market Seed of Wellness.
Brenda Mayo
Brenda has over 30 years experience creating computer graphics, newsletters, forms, and other marketing materials. With experience working in retail and running a business in Ohio, Brenda brings many skills and knowledge to Seeds of Wellness.
Brenda became a Reiki Master and teacher with Lynne, so they can both provide Reiki sessions to our customers. Also, Brenda teaches Reiki classes with Lynne.
Brenda created her animal guide readings and oracle cards to help people understand the lessons they’re learning to improve their lives. She also learned how to use sound to clear people’s energy and remove dis-ease in the energy fields.
Onyx Shadow
Their Border Collie, Labrador retriever, and Australian Shepard mixed dog, enjoys greeting customers every day. Her favorite location in the store is the rocking chair near the front door. She shows her excitement through barking and is still learning how to appropriately greet people.
Onyx is a sweet girl but prefers to be ignored by people she doesn’t know well. After she smells you, she settles down and returns to one of her chairs to relax.
